As a Director of Pricing Strategy and Analysis, you will conduct market research into considerations and innovative approaches for pricing within the software and higher education software market, develop pricing strategies and help support the execution of effective pricing processes and models. Strategic Pricing will be responsible for facilitating the pricing, promotion and packaging strategy development for Ellucian products and solutions and providing cross-functional consultation to various groups. Reporting to the Vice President, Market Strategy & Research, this individual will be a core contributor to building an effective market strategy by understanding the market context, competition, technology and other trends and setting pricing and packaging strategy that helps drive successful sales and strong customer relationships. This includes working with HQ, Division and Global Region partners to assess needs, size opportunities, develop strategies, and coordinate execution of programs that ultimately deliver growth and increase customer retention. In additional to being data oriented and tactically proficient, this role is highly strategic and focused on driving innovation and change via key market strategy and research initiatives and programs.
You will research, analyze and develop an understanding of market considerations for pricing strategy, including approaches of key Ellucian competitors, and identify what pricing models are needed to support effective and competitive market strategy. As a partner and collaborator to product managers, you will provide insight and guidance for designing pricing strategies for products and solutions. In collaboration with partners across sales, services, contracts and finance, you will contribute to the overall success of the pricing process within Ellucian success.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Monitor trends in sales and the market and draw conclusions about performance in order to recommend improvements to pricing strategies and tactics.
Analyze multiple variables such as customer segmentation, geographic diversity, diverse sales channels and systems capabilities when developing targeted strategies.
Validate business and customer needs through market trends, customer insight and competitive intelligence.
Translate data and trends in to opportunity identification and build the justification to state the business case.
Steward business case development and then translate strategies and approved business cases in to systems requirements.
Support requests for partner groups required to drive and deliver the best customer and employee experiences, while delivering customer and revenue growth.
Balance business objectives while supporting product and sales teams, often on an individual case basis.
Act as a subject matter expert, supporting marketing, product management, services and sales teams.
Translate business needs into analysis designs providing insight, knowledge, and understanding of customers, products, and industries.
Develops financial models in designing packaging and pricing to ensure competitive position in market.
Assists with maintaining and improving ongoing initiatives, analyses, and reports.
Develops new ideas and provides consultative support on pricing strategy to others in product management and in other functions
Bachelor’s Degree Required, in business, finance, statistics, marketing, research or technology related discipline
10-15 years of experience marketing, finance or product management experience with, at minimum, 5 years pricing and analysis experience
Experience within the software industry
Financial and business acumen
Strong financial modeling and analysis skills
Understanding of businesses' technology needs

Project management skills
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to engage employees at all levels
Proven track record of delivering business results
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Access and Power Point
