Position Summary The Business Systems Analyst provides business process and functional support for enterprise and ancillary systems at MICA. Serve as liaison across campus to understand the structure, policies and operations of the organization and to recommend solutions that enable the college to achieve its goals.
Responsibilities • Identify and define business needs and opportunities for improvement – develop business case, understand organizational culture, determine solution approach and define solution scope. • Establish the contribution technology can make to business objectives, defining strategies, validating and justifying business needs, conducting feasibility studies, preparing business cases and developing solutions • Document business, task and workflow processes • Assess solutions to ensure strategic goals are met and requirements are satisfied • Design and support interfaces between systems • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers • Create and sustain partnerships with academic and administrative departments around technology acquisition, support, improvement and administration • Represent MICA to external affiliated groups and professional organizations to share knowledge, collaborate and create new opportunities • Manage security and user access control • Develop and maintain troubleshooting and solution process and procedure documentation. • Research and resolve client issues by providing tier 1 through tier 2 support. • Coordinate with and assist other Enterprise Systems staff with application and hardware maintenance and compliance • Perform other related duties as assigned
Essential skills and experience: • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field • Proven experience in a related field • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills • Knowledge of principles and techniques of project management • Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft applications • Orientation toward detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate documentation • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks effectively, learn quickly and thrive in a constantly changing systems environment • Ability to work well in a team environment Valued but not required skills and experience: • Experience in higher education • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases
