Engaged in an integrated team environment, the Research Assistant I conducts a broad range of activities to support the college’s research agenda and other general administrative reporting functions. Fostering data-informed decision making and evidence-based practices across stakeholder groups and subject matter experts, he/she summarizes data from primary and secondary sources, performs appropriate qualitative and quantitative methodologies, prepares reports, and shares findings orally, in writing, and via graphic representation to diverse audiences.
Assist in the preparation of research, reports, fact sheets, and tables/graphs;
Collaborate on and conduct data collection, including various forms of surveys, interviews, and focus groups;
Prepare, manipulate, and manage extensive datasets;
Access and assess accuracy and validity of data in databases;
Perform descriptive and inferential statistical analyses of data using computer software;
Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans of education, economic, and workforce development trends and their impact; and
Perform other related work duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., education, psychology, sociology, anthropology, statistics);
College level courses in statistics;
Experience with primary and secondary data collection;
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word;
Experience with SQL;
Experience with SPSS;
Demonstrated ability to produce research reports;
A continual quality improvement philosophy; and
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
Graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., education, psychology, sociology, anthropology, statistics);
Experience with Qualtrics
Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies;
Experience with statistical analysis, measurement, and assessment in education;
Experience with SSRS;
Experience with predictive analytics;
Experience with project management; and
Experience with program design, curriculum development, and logic models.
