Use standardized curriculum materials to teach educational programs on basic nutrition, food safety, food preparation, and budgeting primarily to low-income adults with children; teach youth in grades 1-12 as assigned by supervisor; recruit participants by collaborating with community agencies and organizations; maintain accurate and complete records/reports for all activities as required by the sponsor agency and by OSU Extension; use standardized evaluation instruments to assess program participants’ knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors to determine educational needs and program impacts; maintain confidentiality of participants and their individual records.

High school graduate or equivalent; access to private transportation to reach various work and training sites; ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.
Associate’s degree in Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences, or other related area; indigenous to the community with knowledge of the community’s infrastructure and culture; ability to teach, network with other individuals and agency representatives, recruit participants, and learn nutrition and nutrition-related information as outlined in the project; ability to establish a rapport with persons from different ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
