The Department of Management in the School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applicants for a full-time tenure track faculty position in Management at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek candidates with research and teaching interests in the domain of creativity and innovation. This position is designed to support the new School of Business strategic plan that focuses on creativity in the curriculum.
We are open to candidates who approach creativity and innovation from either a micro (organizational behavior/applied psychology) or macro (strategy/entrepreneurship) orientation. Primary teaching responsibilities will be for our undergraduate course Creativity and Ideation, with additional teaching possible at the MBA or doctoral level.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Management or a related field (e.g., Industrial/Organizational psychology) with research interests in that include creativity and/or innovation. ABD candidates will be considered if the degree will be completed prior to start date. All candidates must have teaching experience and be able to support our teaching needs for Creativity and Ideation, a course taught to all School of Business students. Demonstrated ability to publish in top-tier academic journals and an active research agenda is required. The ideal candidate will have an active research stream with some projects related to creativity/innovation. A commitment to working with diverse students, faculty, and staff is required. Candidates must be eligible for employment in the United States.
