The Carruth Center for Psychological and Psychiatric Services, a unit within the Division of Student Life at West Virginia University, is seeking applications for a Psychologist. The primary responsibility of the Psychologist is to provide brief counseling, psychotherapy and wellness programming to West Virginia University students.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Provide consultation and outreach to student clients and their families, WVU faculty/staff, and the University community.
Provide counseling and psychotherapy to individuals, groups and couples with diverse concerns.
Conduct intake evaluations, assessments, triages, consultation and crisis intervention services.
Participate in staffing the Carruth Center's after-hours crisis phone.
Completed required documentation on an electronic health record system, as well as quality assurance activities.
Provide clinical supervision to trainees and facilitate seminars on a variety of topics.
Facilitate student access and transition to appropriate mental health providers for ongoing pharmacologic and behavioral therapies as appropriate.

Completed doctoral degree in counseling or clinical psychology (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D., or Psy.D.) from an APA-accredited program
A minimum of 800 hours in supervised practica in providing psychological services, including:
Adult outpatient individual counseling/therapy
At least one (1) year of a full-time Predoctoral Internship in an APA-accredited Professional Psychology program that includes a primary rotation in adult outpatient counseling/therapy and counseling is preferred.
Ability to use Microsoft Office suite
Valid driver's license
Licensed Psychologist within the State of West Virginia, or license-eligible within eighteen months
