We are looking for a Manager/Senior Manager to join the Compliance team aligned to the Macquarie Capital operating group in Sydney. This position offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your compliance experience in a dynamic, commercial and fast-paced environment.
Sitting with the Macquarie Capital business, the role is challenging and requires broad involvement with compliance issues and regular interaction with senior management and executives across Macquarie Capital and the Risk Management Group (RMG) in Australia and New Zealand.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Ensuring an effective compliance environment is maintained in Macquarie Capital in ANZ
Managing potential conflicts of interests associated with transactions undertaken by Macquarie Capital
Advising on compliance implications for specific transactions, new products and businesses
Developing and delivering training
Developing policies as required, and breach and incident reporting
Contributing to the wider programme of work for the compliance team in regional and global projects
Identifying and reporting regulatory risks
Reporting on key compliance metrics to senior management in Macquarie Capital and to RMG
To be successful, you will:
Have gained at least 5 years' experience in an investment banking, legal or regulatory environment
Have compliance advisory experience within private side businesses including investment banking, corporate finance and capital markets
Possess a working knowledge of capital markets and financial services laws, regulatory environment and products
Have an interest in gaining exposure to and working closely with the underlying business
Possess the ability to work independently, determine priorities and meet deadlines
Have strong interpersonal skills, initiative and a good eye for detail
Have strong written and verbal communication skills
Have the ability to take a pragmatic, commercial approach to risk and compliance whilst achieving desired outcomes
