We are seeking two people at Analyst/Executive level to join our MIRA team. These Sydney based roles will provide opportunity to build a career in funds management with a focus on infrastructure assets including airports, seaports, telecommunications and utilities. These roles will see you involved in the full range of MIRA's fund management activities, including asset acquisitions and divestments, refinancings and direct asset management. You will work closely with underlying management of acquired assets, including implementation of business plan initiatives contained in the investment case and with other professional advisors, including legal and financial.
You will gain exposure to our interesting existing portfolio of investments including Hobart Airport, Axicom (communications towers), Genesee & Wyoming (transport) and Endeavour Energy (utilities).
Key responsibilities will include:
due diligence, review and execution of asset acquisitions and divestments, primarily in the infrastructure sector but with exposure to other alternative real asset classes
valuation and scenarios analysis of existing fund assets, including through financial modelling
assessing and implementing appropriate capital structures for existing and new investments
assisting with or owning research projects relating to existing and new asset classes
preparation of board and investment committee materials, performance and investor reports
involvement in the developing marketing and investor communication materials for internal and external use.
To set you up for success in this role you are likely to have experience in Investment Banking with significant exposure to acquisition transactions including due diligence. You will also require:
tertiary qualifications in finance, commerce, economics or a related discipline with excellent academic results
at least two years experience at a top tier firm in investment banking, management consulting or law
excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels
strong financial modelling and Excel skills, or demonstrated aptitude in mathematics
high self motivation, entrepreneurialism and the ability to work effectively with limited supervision and direction
a strong understanding of business issues and a commercial mindset.
