Montessori School of Denver, a private independent Montessori school, seeks a full time librarian for students Pre-K through Middle School. Our library encourages and promotes intellectual curiosity, a love of reading, and a passion for learning through access to materials and resources that celebrate the diversity of interests and backgrounds of our school community. We seek a librarian possessing a love of working with children ages 2-13 and a commitment to creating a fun and welcoming environment that supports the development of lifelong readers. The ideal candidate should have a passion for reading and sharing children’s literature with students and faculty. Candidates should display the ability to empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical consumers of information. We seek a librarian who not only collaborates well with teachers to integrate information literacy and technology into the classroom with an in-depth knowledge of current technology trends and age-appropriate use of technological tools, but also cultivates social-emotional learning within the library curriculum and environment. Candidates should be proficient in collection development and maintenance of various media and hardware. Candidates should also have significant experience with planning and delivering lessons, story reading/telling, and cooperative planning with teachers to meet curricular needs. MLS or equivalent degree is required, and experience as a children's librarian is preferred.
