The Sacramento VA Medical Center is looking for full-time or part-time Sleep Medicine physician. Incumbent(s) will be responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating sleep and breathing disorders and diseases of outpatients seen in the clinic. You will perform a wide range of medical duties covering all aspects of disorders involving sleep medicine that is of moderate to severe complexity (e.g. narcolepsy, insomnia, etc.). You will be responsible for interpreting in-lab sleep studies and be the attending in the sleep clinic. You will provide recommendations of definitive evaluation for sleep medicine and breathing related disorders. You will prescribe appropriate treatments to include continuous positive airway pressure, bi-level airway pressure, oxygen, drugs or behavioral modalities. You will provide prescription renewal and telephone consultative services. There is potential for CBT-I if requested.
The VANCHCS co-sponsors an ACGME-accredited Sleep Medicine Fellowship program with our affiliate the University of California, Davis. Academic appointment may be available.
Tour of Duty: Full time, primarily day shift with home call or Mon-Fri 8a-4:30p; shared on-call; Tele-work may be available (review of in-patient/portable sleep studies only)
