This is an unclassified position that oversees the day to day operations of the Men's and Women's Tennis teams and the Tennis Center.
20% Administrative duties such as negotiations of contracts and scheduling; recording and maintaining team statistics; monitoring academic progress of student-athletes and monitors APR; monitors and prepares budget; handles all purchasing; assist with facility/office improvement projects; liaison to Marketing Department to assist with marketing plan, media guides, posters, schedule cards, etc.; Assists coaches with recruiting duties such as compiling information; maintaining database in recruiting software (Jump Forward); coordinate on-campus visits; creating and distributing weekly mail-outs and in-home packets; liaison with Compliance Office; coordinates scholarship paperwork; prepares academic letters, mailing lists and National Letter of Intent.
20% Liaison with Athletic Business Office for transportation, lodging, meals, etc. Primary contact for updates, changes, etc. Coordinates meals for hotel and post games. Secures post game meal money for participating athletes and support staff. Coordinates plane/bus travel for away games. Coordinates stay, room assignments, etc. Prepares corresponding vouchers.
20% Oversees the day to day operations of the Tennis Center. Represents the Tennis Center with regard to business and financial matters, facility logistics and usage policies when dealing with various campus departments, outside agents, individuals, organizations, or other users of the facility, etc., for contracted events. Compute and present all expenses to these users; Coordinate the sale of novelty merchandise for events, including negotiation of building percentages, securing of sales personnel, supervision of inventory and settlement of event sales.
20% Scheduling of events and athletic practices for the Tennis Center. Coordinate event management for scheduled events. These include ticket takers, door guards, event management supervisors, firemen, uniformed security, first aid and ushers.
10% Schedule practice times in home facilities and for away competition. Coordinate schedules of individual workouts, practices, and weight lifting/conditioning. Coordinate opponent practice times when on-campus. Ensure practice times do not conflict with class schedules, tutoring, and study hall appointments; Representative to equipment providers and responsible for ordering uniforms, shoes and practice gear for players and coaches. Order tennis racquets, balls, and any other gear needed. Maintain accurate inventory of equipment.
10% Responsible for the supervision of student managers. Responsible for hiring, scheduling and oversees the work.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with one year of experience in a Division I athletic program; Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations; organizational and interpersonal skills.
Special or Physical Qualifications: Travel is required. Must be able to work extended days, weekends and holidays.
