James Madison University, a Division I member of the NCAA and Colonial Athletic Association, is seeking an Assistant Women's Tennis Coach to work within a highly competitive program. This is a full-time position with benefits and a vehicle stipend in the amount of $4,000.00.
The Assistant Coach supports the administration of the Women's Tennis program; coaches, trains and motivates student-athletes in order to achieve competitive success; assists the head coach in organizing and scheduling practices, facilities, accommodations, transportation, tournaments and dual matches; scouts opponents and evaluates videos; coordinates recruiting quality student-athletes who meet admission requirements and who have the potential to graduate and ensures compliance with NCAA, CAA and JMU regulations.
A bachelor's degree is required with a master's degree preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with specific coaching, recruiting and training experience, preferably at the collegiate level. Preference will also be given to individuals who have played Division I tennis, or ITF/ATP/WTA playing experience. The ability to guide and support James Madison University student-athletes in their quest for excellence-academically, athletically and socially as they prepare for productive and meaningful lives is essential. In addition, the ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, parents, administrators, faculty, staff and the community is essential.
