The Financial Operations Specialist coordinates the recruitment of the Library’s student employees and manages day-to-day financial transactions, including purchasing of general office supplies and tracking expenditures. The incumbent administers the Library’s personnel transactions, including the compilation of timesheets, wage adjustments, position changes, and the maintenance of personnel records. The Financial Operations Specialist also initiates personnel and payroll transactions for the Library, and is responsible for monitoring and reporting on leave balances and part-time wage budgets. The incumbent serves as a resource for Library employees with respect to routine University and Library human resources policies and procedures. This position also manages the operations of the Administration front office, and is responsible for recruiting and supervising students at the front desk.

Associate’s degree or the equivalent in education, training, and experience. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
Two years’ experience in a professional office such as an educational environment or a law firm and/or customer service environment
Six months financial experience
Must be able to convey a positive public image with a professional attitude at all times with a diverse and inclusive population
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite to include Excel, Word, Access and Visio
Sound judgment with the ability to handle confidential information and ability to use discretion
Ability to compose correspondence and communicate orally
Basic experience with analyzing metrics
Ability to collaborate on many difference levels and resolve problems. Attention to detail is essential
Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task, including the ability to reprioritize daily tasks to be able to resolve urgent issues that may arise without losing sight of longer-term projects
Basic knowledge of employment law and best recruitment practices
