The Regional Pricing Director will be located in Irving, Texas or Phoenix, Arizona and will report to the Director, Global Pricing. This is an integral and key role within WESCO where s/he will be responsible for developing and driving the Sell-Side Price strategy to optimize Margin Opportunities and achieve Business Plan Margin Goals and Objectives for the western region of the U.S. In this role you will be required to travel 30-40%.
In this role s/he will manage a team of 12 Pricing Managers and Analysts that are necessary to execute the strategy throughout the field. It’s essential the Regional Pricing Director provide proper leadership, coaching, mentorship, and direction to the team to ensure business success in meeting defined goals and objectives. S/he will also plan and schedule workloads accordingly.
Also crucial to success, is working in alignment with Region Leadership, Category Management and Global Account Management developing pricing scenarios and establishing sell-side price levels based on profitability, awareness and customer commitments.
Develops the Price Strategy focused on Price Setting, Price Optimization, Price Appreciation, Price Execution, Price Validation and Margin Realization.
Leads overall Price Management with respect to the strategy and profitability.
Provides training for staff, implements and maintains standard operating procedures, prepares annual team operating budget, executes staff performance appraisals and interviews and hires new employees.
Provides Price Guidance by setting Target and Floor price levels, locking where appropriate, approve/disapprove Floor Price breach and margin threshold requests.
Provides oversight and approves customer pricing and margin strategies within the region.
Establishes and maintains Pricing performance metrics and drives organization to meet goals. Provides financial and performance metrics to company leadership.
Aligns strategy consistent with Purchasing on cost related margin protection
Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, while developing and maintaining procedures and policies focused on pricing accuracy and profit maximization.
Manages pricing execution, to include data integrity, consistency and compliance to agreement
Drives team performance to proactively initiate identification and resolution of pricing and margin issues; identifies and owns process improvements.
Designs and maintains new and enhanced systems or applications and training to be effective for planned work requirements.
Minimum or Required Qualifications:
Bachelors’ Degree in Business or related required
5 years sell-side Price Strategy development and Price Setting
5 years management supervision
Preferred Qualifications (In addition to the Required Qualifications)
Masters’ Degree (MBA)
Electrical product and distribution experience
Excellent and fundamental understanding in pricing structures and techniques.
Strong ability to build strong business cases to defend price position and influence Field Sales Leadership
Strong negotiation, implementation and performance management skills
Strong personal leadership and ability to coach, teach and mentor others
Goal and results oriented and can accomplish tasks at a fast pace.
