Advertised Summary Job Description: Position involves working as an IT technician in the Department of Anesthesiology's Certified IT support group. The candidate will spend most of their time working with faculty and staff in the department, and must be familiar with both MACs and PCs. The individual should be able to evaluate basic hardware problems, and to replace internal cards, disc drives and motherboards if necessary.
The applicant should also be able to evaluate printer hardware issues, and to identify, order, and install printer replacement parts.
Basic knowledge of wired and wireless networking is a must and the applicant should have familiarity with connecting to secure wireless access points.
The position also involves working with the Anesthesiology Certified IT group on general end-user support and documenting IT endpoint security. The applicant must have familiarity with programs used by faculty and staff, as well as basic networking skills necessary to evaluate end-user access to networked resources. The applicant will work as part of a team monitoring user end-point devices and servers, and implementing security initiatives at both the server and end-point level.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training and experience, plus two years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Windows Active Directory and VMware virtual machine hosting is a plus.
