The Communication Department of Central Washington University invites applications to join a dynamic group of nearly 20 faculty and 250 undergraduate majors. The department offers majors in public relations, digital journalism, and communication studies. The communication studies program features a Bachelor of Arts with two specializations in Intercultural/International Communication and Organizational Communication, as well as communication and organizational communication minors. Admission to all Communication majors is selective.
Teach courses in communication studies (introduction to communication, public speaking, intercultural communication, and similar courses) and possibly advise students.
MA in communication studies
Demonstrated outstanding teaching experience in both face-to-face and online contexts, with emphases in general communication studies, public speaking, and intercultural communication.
A Ph.D. in Communication or related field
Teaching experience in public speaking and intercultural communication
Commitment to interdisciplinary and academic service learning.
Pay & Work Schedule
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Appointment: Nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track appointment, with summer teaching possible
