Enterprise Risk & Compliance Manager - Las Vegas, NV
Responsible for establishing and implementing an effective compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. The Compliance Officer, together with the Governance Committee, is authorized to implement all necessary actions to ensure achievement of the objectives of an effective compliance program. This position reports to General Counsel.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited to: training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, delegating and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving employee issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct which includes vulnerability to fraud, abuse and waste.
Establish, maintain and continuously improve the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program to enable the Management Team and Board/Risk Committee to set the organization’s risk appetite and tolerance and enable visibility to material risk mitigation and management activities.
Drive improvements and revisions to risk policies, procedures, and methodologies. Promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability through training, education and risk management consultative support.
Compilation, review, and submission of filings required by Switch.
Monitor compliance to all statutory, regulatory and industry standard requirements.
Develops and periodically reviews and updates Code of Conduct to ensure continuing currency and relevance in providing guidance to management and employees.
Coordinates Mock Audits, develops audit reports, and coordinates the development of the corrective action plans.
Collaborates with other departments as needed to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
Consults with counsel as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues.
Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Standards of Conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
Acts as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
Institutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program for the organization, including promoting; (1) heightened awareness of Code of Conduct, and (2) understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures.
Implement and maintain compliance training program.
Monitors the performance of the Compliance Program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
Performs other duties/projects as assigned.
Required Job Skills:
Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Familiarity with compliance laws, regulations, and standards.
Experience: 5+ years’ compliance management experience a must. Experience working in or around the data center or technology-based industries, preferred.
