Senior Analyst, Prospect Research & Analytics
Under the general direction of the Associate Director, Campaign Management & Information Systems, the Sr. Analyst, Prospect Research & Analytics will provide the information, analysis, research, and data management tools necessary to guide effective donor-centric and data-driven decision making in regard to campaign fundraising priorities for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The position’s primary responsibilities include: strategic oversight of prospect and donor data; reporting and delivery of information related to fundraising; design and development of the business intelligence environment; implementation of predictive models to help build the prospect pipeline for fundraising initiatives including major gift, planned giving, annual and event giving; comprehensive research and analysis of issues and trends; measuring key areas of effectiveness and providing analysis and recommendations for improvement to management; and providing direct leadership and oversight of the prospect research and reporting/analysis teams.
Job Responsibilities: • Apply strategic business intelligence, data analytics and predictive modeling to guide prospect identification, segmentation and acquisition • Develop process for assigning, maintaining and optimizing development officer portfolios • Monitor usage of prospect management tracking system and related suite of reports • Consult with team members in department and other officers regarding current data analyses, trends to consider, and future needs for the business intelligence environment to ensure that CSMC is well served through the business analyst functions • Engage with colleagues to determine needs for and then execute plans to develop analytical models that inform fundraising and other strategies • Create, institute, and promote organizational standards and improvement initiatives across multiple business units through solid supervision of team members and implementation of effective analytics • Supervise and participate in cross-functional teams and special projects as needed • Maintain project plans and timelines for various initiatives • Develop data collection plans to ensure that the department has the necessary information to produce reports and analysis to support its campaign fundraising goals • Supervise and mentor research and report analyst team members in accordance with CSMC standards and guidelines for oversight of their work
• BA/BS in related field; graduate degree in statistics, computer science, or information systems preferred • 5+ years of related experience, including supervising staff • Fluency in computer technologies, including high level of proficiency with data mapping, data mining, building predictive models, and statistical software tools, such as SPSS, R, Tableau • Microsoft Word, Access and Excel, Knowledge of specialized research databases (e.g. LexisNexis) • Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) reporting tools • Raiser's Edge expertise preferred • Experience with basic SQL coding is preferred • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented team environment required.
