Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach to assist with the coaching and training of student-athletes at the NCAA Division I level in the sport of tennis to prepare them for competition in local, regional and national arenas.
Successful recruitment of academically qualified and athletically talented student-athletes.
Coaching and training of student-athletes at the NCAA Division I level to prepare them for competition in local, regional and national arenas.
Maintenance of accurate files of current and prospective student-athletes. Maintenance of required NCAA, A10, and University paperwork.
Evaluation of prospective student-athletes.
Scheduling of all matches for the tennis team.
Securing travel arrangements involved with recruitment, matches, and tournaments.
Monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes.
Must have an advanced degree or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree.
Knowledge and experience with NCAA Division I rules and regulations is required.
1-2 years experience as an coaching at the Division I collegiate level.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Previous playing experience in the sport of tennis is preferred.
International recruiting experience is preferred.
