Job Description:This position will provide project-specific regular/ongoing end-to-end quality improvement/practice facilitation training as well as project management support consistently to selected University and outlying practices (that train learners), preferably using strategies that are interprofessional and bring learners to work together across disciplinary boundaries. The person in this position will develop trusting relationships with the providers and office staff in both University and outlying practice sites that will facilitate quality improvement training of learners and that will foster selection and implementation of new care delivery strategies designed to improve outcomes. The person in this role will remain in frequent contact with both learner groups as well as with the practice staff, and will monitor, with learners, the practice's progress in new/revised care strategy implementation, management, reporting, and progression towards quality improvement in the delivery of care for patients.
Miniumum Qualifications: Requires a minimum of a Post baccalaureate (masters or higher) degree in a clinical care health field. Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. A Valid NC Driver's License and the ability to work a flexible schedule with travel in the region. Demonstrated ability to teach learners using effective verbal and written communication strategies, examples, applications, simulations, etc. and in multiple practice settings of varying size. Demonstrated experience with public speaking & presenting. Demonstrated teaching or coaching skills. Preferred Education and Experience: Knowledge Base: Pre-existing familiarity with rapid cycle quality improvement & The IHI Model for Improvement preferred. Otherwise, a commitment to learn this model ASAP after hiring (Resources/training will be provided). Organizational Skills: Ability to work with little or no direct supervision & manage a large volume of work. Easily adapt to changes in both individual project(s) and health care environment. Technical Skills: Experience with EHR, use of mobile devices, printers, copiers, fax machines, calculators, and computers. Proficiency in, or high level of comfort in learning, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, E-mail, and Web based applications. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels but especially to health science learners who may be at different levels (students vs. residents). Teamwork skills. Ability to function effectively as a member of a larger team. Skills in motivational interviewing desirable. Registered Nurse qualifications preferred.
