Job Description:The Office for Equity and Diversity (OED) is seeking applications for a twelve-month, full-time, non-faculty Instructional and Training Technology Consultant. The Instructional and Training Technology Consultant is a key player in developing, designing and delivering the OED's on-line learning modules and other multimedia educational, awareness and communications programs and also serves as the point of contact and training consultant for users of the Office's training technologies. The Consultant will: - collaborate directly with subject matter experts in the OED to select the best delivery methodologies for providing online educational information to faculty, staff and students about the university's protected classes, sexual assault, harassment, discrimination, and diversity and inclusion principles; - use content provided by OED subject matter experts and provide technical writing, development, design and implementation of educational web and media-based interactive learning modules by using video, animation and other multimedia software and the university's learning management system; - utilize existing and emerging technologies to build awareness via online learning communities among faculty, staff and university community partners including diversity and inclusion specific committees; - field inquiries about training technologies and provide technical assistance for faculty, staff and students utilizing the OED's online and web-based educational offerings; - create and maintain OED's training and education completion records and databases, and generate reports; - write original content for and maintain the OED website and other awareness materials, and review content for grammar and design for ADA accessibility; - partner with various university constituents to create posters, ads, factsheets, and the university's annual diversity report; - use content provided by OED subject matter experts and consult with unit staff to develop and execute awareness campaigns regarding the university's protected classes, Title IX rights and responsibilities, sexual assault, harassment, discrimination, and diversity and inclusion principles; - track and report the effectiveness of online educational tools and recommend best practices and new technologies and approaches for delivering information, as needed; and - perform other duties as assigned.
Miniumum Qualifications: Master's degree in instructional technology, instructional design, technical writing, or a directly related discipline OR a Bachelor's degree with at least one year of directly related experience. All degrees should be from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire. Must have excellent conceptual and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Must also demonstrate attention to detail and excellent writing skills. Professional experience that includes evidence of project management and effective organizational skills also required. Preferred Education and Experience: Two years of directly related experience. Experience with MS Excel, CommonSpot, Articulate, Cornerstone, and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
