Patient Access Nurse Coordinator (RN)
The Patient Access Nurse Coordinator maximizes access for new/potential patients to MSKCC by using oncology expertise and critical thinking skills to insure appropriate resolution of all calls/requests and serves as the clinical resource for the Care Advisors to assure quality referrals and appropriate, timely appointments.
*Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions. *Action-oriented and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. *Effective at building formal and informal networks inside and outside the organization to further departmental and institutional goals. *Resilient in recovering from setbacks and skilled at finding detours around obstacles.
*Ensure ease of patient access and quality service. *Implement institutional initiatives and administrative goals to maximize access for new/potential patients to MSKCC. *Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Administrative Director to improve overall long-term effectiveness of PAS program through review of new visit appointment availability, referral patterns, and by ensuring that the right staff is in place to achieve departmental objectives. *Document pertinent clinical information from calls succinctly to insure clarity and continuity for patients and callers.
*Bachelor’s of Nursing (BSN) is required with a related master’s degree (preferred). *4-7 years of clinical nursing experience in Oncology
Shifts: Four weekdays (10 hour shifts)
