Maintains the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Small Business Center and Business Incubation program in order to assist entrepreneurs and support the sustainable, economic growth of local small business; serve as primary point of contact for A-B Tech Enka. Maintains the program's high quality reputation by providing excellent customer service for all stakeholders.
1. Performs general office duties, data entry, input of all client management case notes and administrative tasks associated with seminar programming. Provides accurate, courteous, and efficient administrative support to Small Business Center and for Business Incubation program. Manages administrative tasks associated with the development and implementation of Small Business Center programming, provides guidance to prospective participants on the Business Incubation program and manages administrative aspects of application process. Answers general business development related questions. 2. Maintains high quality reputation of program by demonstrating superior customer service to both internal and external clients. This includes community members, SBC Clients, employees, guests, vendors and customers of both Business Incubation program participants and A-B Tech partners. Also applies to A-B Tech Curriculum and Continuing Education students. 3. Prepares and submits work orders, requisitions, and purchase orders as needed by the department. 4. Manages facility issues for building which includes multiple internal and external entities (serve as first point of contact, places work orders, provides follow-up, etc.) 5. Manages the “pre on-boarding” and “on-boarding” of all Business Incubation program participants/A-B Tech Partners (i.e. securing keys, ensuring room suitable, assigning copy codes/door codes, etc.). Administers the rent/fee payments/invoicing for the Business Incubation program and Partners. 6. Manages room scheduling system for all classrooms and conference rooms within the SBC. Oversees the calendars and scheduling for SBC staff and all SBC guest counselors. Sets up conference/classrooms for events/seminars. Provides directional signs for SBC, Continuing Education programming as well as for Business Incubation program participants/ A-B Tech Partners. 7. Utilizes Microsoft Office applications, including Access, PowerPoint and Publisher in respect to document creation and report purposes. 8. Serves as first point of contact for Business Incubation program participants/A-B Tech Partners, provides guidance to walk-ins which often requires leaving post to walk customer to destination. 9. Manages social media and engages with Community Relations & Marketing Department on all marketing communications. 10. Other tasks as assigned.
1. Associate’s degree; 2. Requires one year of related experience, and a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures applicable to the position. 3. Requires one year of experience in an office environment with current knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Comfort level with troubleshooting minimum technical issues with classroom technology; social media experience for business (Facebook, electronic newsletters, etc.). 4. One year of small business work, ownership or related experience. 5. Customer Service experience with wide variety of individuals.
1. Experience working within higher education; 2. Experience in an entrepreneurship education program; 3. Demonstrate proficiency in a foreign language and/or second language including American Sign Language.
