Markenting and Communications
The University of Missouri–St. Louis Marketing and Communications Department seeks a creative Graphic Designer with experience in both print and electronic media. We’re looking for someone who is adept at providing effective solutions to our graphic challenges, converting our client’s input, copy and other elements into seamless images, layouts and other designs. We work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; our ideal candidate will be able to multitask and thrive working independently and in a team setting. We hope to find a curious, open, resourceful and entrepreneurial individual, one who is passionate about design and excited to bring concepts to life.
Consult and collaborate with marketing, copywriting and admissions teams to create cohesive designs that reflect the UMSL Brand
Create visual aspects of marketing materials, including magazines, newsletters, brochures, digital and print advertising, videos, etc.
Gather information and materials to prepare work, including creative brief, copy, icons, photographs and other components necessary for design
Work simultaneously on as many as 5+ projects based on current client workload
Complete projects by coordinating with outside vendors, art services, printers, etc. Able to provide job specifications and accurately check pre-press and on-press proofs for printing
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, or related discipline
4+ years experience in graphic design, with a marketing or creative agency preferred
Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
Experience in print production and working with outside vendors
Detail-oriented, well organized, able to balance and prioritize multiple projects in s fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Ability to think critically and conceptually
Excellent communication skills
Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and clients
Experience in graphic design, advertising, or in-house graphics agency
Proficiency in creating infographics
Experience in Adobe After Effects
