The successful candidate will serve as the fiscal officer for the Department of Writing, Rhetoric and American Cultures (WRAC) and the Writing,Information and Digital Experience (WIDE). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, budget/financial oversight; facilities planning and space management, human resources, personnel management, and supervision of support staff for units mentioned above; also contract and grant pre- and post-award activity and other administrative duties as assigned; will be expected to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide range of clients.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a Business related field or a field which corresponds to the particular employing unit; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation software, and/or desktop publishing and web page software; or related software and in maintaining accounting ledgers; may require supervision; and/or in performing responsibilities closely related to the operational activities of the employing unit; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, experience as a budget/ financial manager in a higher education academic department or program; experience with academic and non-academic human resources, personnel management, supervision of clerical support staff, facilities planning and space management; experience with contract and grant pre- and post-award activity; demonstrated excellence in communication, organizational , and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with varied constituents in a timely courteous and professional manner; ability to handle multiple tasks, details, and prioritize work; experience with processing transactions in the SAP HR/Payroll and Kuali Financial Systems and Cognos Business Intelligence reporting; experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint; ability to interpret information in order to coordinate projects and respond to questions; demonstrates a work orientation that includes problem solving, teamwork and adaptability to change, focus on service and continuous learning for self-improvement.
