Neuroscience Clinical Coordinator's responsibilities include:
Develops and leads performance improvement initiatives related to quality and patient, physician and staff satisfaction.
Demonstrates leadership and commitment to excellence in patient care and service.
In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, develops, maintains and monitors Neuroscience practice guidelines, order sets and clinical pathways based on evidence based medicine.
Develops and nurtures collaborative working relationships that create a sense of ownership in the neuroscience service line with hospital department leaders, neurologists and neurosurgeons as well as other staff and specialists involved in the care continuum for neuroscience patients.
Monitors patient care outcomes for Neuroscience services.
Maintains expert knowledge of the neuroscience fields
Promotes and supports physicians and nursing staff participation in collaborative practice.
Represents the neuroscience service line in the community.
Identifies and facilitates the provision of Neuroscience education for nursing, allied health personnel and patient/families.
Services as a role model, teacher, coach and mentor for the healthcare team and community.
Assists with patient and family education and patient satisfaction.
Assists with patient flow throughout the care continuum.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 4 years clinical experience in caring for the neuroscience or neurotrauma patient.
2 must be in critical care setting.
Must demonstrate problem solving, continuous quality improvement and analytical skills.
Ability to write presentations, routine reports and correspondence.
Proficient with database and spreadsheet management
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado
Certified as a Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) through the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN) Preferred
Light Work - exert/lift up to 20 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently.
