Postdoctoral Fellowships at Rutgers University, Piscataway, NJ.
Two postdoctoral fellowships are available in an auditory neuroscience laboratory in the Department of Cell Biology & Neuroscience. The NIH-funded project is designed to study how the electrophysiological properties of spiral ganglion neurons are modulated by neurotransmitters and second messengers, and how their morphological features are affected by growth factors. One position requires expertise with patch clamp recording; experience in IR-DIC and/or calcium imaging is a plus. The other position requires molecular biological expertise along with experience in immunocytochemistry. Rutgers University is home to a large, highly collaborative neuroscience community; the Rutgers Piscataway campus is also close to New York City and Philadelphia, thus offering easy access to additional scientific and cultural opportunities.
