This Director of Medical and Professional Staff Services serves as an essential link between senior management and the medical staff to promote effective working relationships and ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards. The Director is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of processes for focused practitioner performance evaluation, ongoing practitioner performance evaluation and other processes to ensure quality. In this position, the Director is responsible for developing, managing and directly supporting the governance activities of the medical staff, including drafting and revising the medical staff bylaws, policies and procedures. In addition, the Director provides the administrative support for medical staff committees and other medical staff functions, such as the semiannual medical staff meetings and medical staff leadership retreats.
- Collaborates with medical staff leaders to design, implement and manage an objective, criteria-based clinical privileging system.
- Develops and implements systems to ensure continuous compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Provides administrative support to the medical staff leadership that supports the effective execution of their functions.
- Directs and manages the strategic and daily activities of the medical staff office.
- Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned.
