Under the general supervision of the Manager of Report Generation perform a variety of administrative duties in preparation for coordination of clinical consults and provide backup support to clerical support staff in a busy clinical service.

Work Week: Standard (M-F equal number of hours per day)
Required Skill/ability 1: Very detailed oriented with the ability to accession incoming consult cases to appropriate service and pathologist, ensuring all necessary information is complete and accurate.
Required Skill/ability 2: Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology. Familiarity with MAC operating system with average typing skills.
Required Skill/ability 3: Ability to follow all established protocol and type all Anatomic Pathology reports with accuracy. Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced clinical environment.
Required Skill/ability 4: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; reliable and dependable with the ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with anatomic surgical specimens.
Required Skill/ability 5: Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must have a flexible attitude toward work assignments. Knowledge of Co-Path and demonstrated ability to work in a clinical laboratory.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Required Licenses Or Certifications:
Four years of related work experience, two of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and high school level education; or two years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
