| This Quality Assurance Engineer will participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle from requirement to testing and release activities. This role tests software programs to establish that all business requirements have been implemented completely and correctly and are traceable to system requirements.|
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The QA Engineer will participate as part of a dynamic team in all phases of development for existing and new services; help to troubleshoot and proactively resolve software issues; ensure compliance with University standards for security, privacy, and accessibility; collaborate with other members of the team, including the software architect, project managers, business analysts, other QA team members, developers, systems and database experts; and collaborate with colleagues in HUIT and across Harvard to ensure successful integration with existing systems and services.
The QA Engineer identifies, analyzes, and reports defects with full evidence, such as functionality errors, inconsistencies in software program functions, file outputs, user interface forms, content, and system usability issues. The QA Engineer will execute both functional and performance testing for web based applications as well as non-web based programs on multiple platforms.
Other activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Mentor other QA team members, contribute to and follow documented software testing standards, and assist with escalated incidents in the production environment, potentially outside of business hours.
