Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support for the Division of Life Sciences Office of Undergraduate Instruction. This position is responsible for handling student inquiries and facilitating course registration services. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Handles inquiries from students regarding prerequisite overrides, course waiting lists and special permission numbers, accessing student records to verify various information.
Creates and maintains files for undergraduate students and provides support for the Biological Sciences advisors.
Posts mail for the Division of Life Sciences and provides back-up Mail Room support.
Responds to in-person, email and phone request from staff and faculty.
Generates advising and waiting lists reports and other reports as appropriate.
Assist with projects and set schedules for various project tasks when necessary.
Organizes, coordinates and performs complex, diversified and confidential administrative duties that require discretion for the Office of Undergraduate Instruction.
Home Location Campus: Busch (RU-New Brunswick)
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Familiarity with University web systems e.g. Rutadmin, Degree Navigator, Webreg (Online Schedule of Classes), MyMajor, etc preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
