Essential Functions: This position is a non-tenure track, nine-month academic appointment. The first year contract will begin August 17, 2017 through May 15, 2018, with the possibility for a renewal appointment. Reid, Honors College at Wayne State University is seeking to fill a Non-Tenure Track position for the 2017/2018 academic year. Candidates will be expected to: Teach the first year seminar sections of Honors 1000 and Honors Political Science 1010.With an enrollment of more than 27,000 students, it is one of the three major research universities in Michigan that make up the Michigan University Research Corridor. Qualifications: PhD. Degree required.Demonstrated excellence as a college-level instructor. Experience and success teaching writing, especially writing across the disciplines. Commitment to and demonstrated success in interdisciplinary teaching and innovative curriculum developmentHistory of community involvement, civic engagement. Knowledge of and enthusiasm for Honors education. Flexibility and a willingness to collaborate with fellow lecturers and Honors staff. Knowledge of American political science and political institutions.
