An opportunity has arisen to join the Personal Banking business within Macquarie Bank as a BDM Support Officer, where you will be part of a highly successful team with strong growth aspirations.
The role is part of the Intermediaries division within Personal Banking, a key business within Macquarie's Banking & Financial Services Group (BFS). Intermediaries manages distribution of home loans and other Personal Banking products through an accredited broker network, with a sales team that includes Field and Phone based BDMs. The BDM Support Officer role is designed to work in partnership with a small number of BDMs to ensure effective and efficient management of their business, and to deliver an optimal experience for broker partners and end customers.
As a result of business expansion and a decision to increase the level of support provided to our BDMs to drive further growth, we are looking for a number of banking professionals to join the team in the key role of BDM Support Officer.
Roles and responsibilities
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
Proactively managing home loan applications from lodgement through to settlement, including
Reviewing loan applications and supporting documentation
Communicating with mortgage brokers to obtain clarification or additional information required
Acting as a key intermediary between BDMs, mortgage brokers and the internal Credit team
Dealing with other business partners, such as solicitors and valuation firms
Supporting BDMs to effectively manage and grow their business, including
Assisting with sales preparation, research and training activities
Proactively managing the BDM's loan pipeline to increase net book growth
Driving resolution of issues experienced by the BDM or their accredited broker partners
Providing an exceptional client experience when receiving and/or initiating calls to mortgage brokers
Developing a deep understanding of our home loan products and Macquarie's positioning within the market
Participating actively in the team sessions to drive improvements to our service offering and process
You are a sales and service professional who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and establishing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
A minimum of two years working in the Financial Services industry
Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills
A strong sense of accountability, willingness to take ownership and drive resolution of issues
An interest in the residential mortgage industry (previous experience strongly preferred)
An ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced and changing team environment
A high degree of self-motivation and drive, and willingness to learn and try new approaches
PC literacy and basic level ability on all MS products (previous operational experience an advantage)
