The Instructional Coordinator in the School of Liberal Arts provides instructional and administrative support to the Dean of Liberal Arts, department chairs and coordinators (and their designees) on matters pertaining to faculty and instruction, course offerings and scheduling, college publications, teaching assignments and contracts, faculty teaching loads, preparation and maintenance of curricular and instructional documents, data analysis of enrollment trends, adjunct hiring practices and textbook management.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and develop all production phases of the credit schedule of classes for submission to the Office of Records and Registration.
Schedule and assign full-time and part-time faculty to courses and any approved non-instructional service; ensure room assignments meet instructional and student needs in conjunction with the Office of Records and Registration; and coordinate the scheduling of designated credit/noncredit share (CNS) courses with the School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
Oversee the processing and routing of all compensation documents for full-time and part-time faculty.
Evaluate and analyze course enrollments for scheduling effectiveness with department chairs and coordinators, identifying trends and recommendations for action to Dean. Generate enrollment reports at the course and department level.
Track ongoing enrollments in class sections to ensure class offerings are sufficient and assist with recommendations to department chairs and coordinators for additional offerings.
Make informed decisions to open and/or cancel sections in the absence of department chairs and/or the Dean.
Organize, coordinate, enter and modify all Committee on Educational Policies and Curriculum (EPC) proposals for the academic calendar year via Curriculog, tracking the progress of the documents through the final approval by the EPC Committee.
Evaluate and review courses and programs of study documents to ensure currency of the program descriptions, course and program learning outcomes, course descriptions and course outlines; work with chairs and coordinators to update as necessary.
Review and edit, including additions, deletions, and any other changes, via Acculog from EPC-approved changes for the College Catalog.
Maintain, monitor, and generate reports on full-time faculty and part-time faculty schedules and workloads each semester to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and federal regulations.
Work with Information Services programmers to test and implement new Colleague functions and software updates and provide feedback.
Coordinate with department chairs and coordinators new and adjusted lab fees for classes to ensure documentation is prepared by budgetary deadlines.
Generate job advertisements and review, process, and maintain applications for prospective adjunct faculty.
Serve as primary content manager for the School of Liberal Arts website in collaboration with the Dean and department chairs and coordinators.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Dean or Vice President for Learning.
