The Division of Rheumatology’s Scleroderma Program is seeking to add an experienced Clinical Research Coordinator to lend their knowledge to our research team and to assist with program project coordination of a variety of drug trials, investigator initiated clinical studies, and NIH funded trials. Candidate with at least 1 year of experience in conducting pharmaceutical trials is preferred.
This is NOT a lab position you will be working directly with the clinical research principal investigators and research subjects.
Responsibilities include oversight of clinical projects and responsibility for ensuring that the following activities are completed within specifications for the program, including operational objectives and assignments:
- Screening and recruiting patients for clinical and translational research studies.
- IRB regulatory management.
- Database development and management (including developing surveys using Survey Monkey, etc).
- Data entry and management including developing a process to ensure timeliness and accuracy of data capture and reporting. This will include data entry of confidential clinical information (i.e., laboratory values).
- Formulate CRF’s, recruitment materials, and other relevant study documents for multiple ongoing studies.
- Coordinate subject recruitment and ensure that up to date patient tracking records are kept for multiple ongoing studies.
- Prepping/organization of clinical trial binders and kits for patient visits. Including management of inventory for laboratory kits. Assistance with miscellaneous activities for research protocols.
- Work with division administration for budget development and project financials in pre and post award.
- Work with other units on outsourced aspects of projects.
- Work with Research Manager on other special projects.
Highly motivated, organized, autonomous person with excellent multi-tasking ability and record-keeping skills. Must have a strong attention to detail with the ability to function and communicate well within a team environment.
Preference will be given to those candidates with a background in life/health science or professional certification from an accredited program. Particular interest will be paid to those with prior job experience working and interacting with patients in a direct patient care setting or outpatient clinic. The candidate must feel comfortable working with patients and have previous experience in communicating scientific/technical language to lay persons. Extensive knowledge of U of M systems (preferred not mandatory), Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, and Word programs.
Professional demeanor and good interpersonal skills. Ability to work and communicate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, scientists, nurses and medical assistants in an outpatient/inpatient clinical setting. A working knowledge of medical terminology and assessment of laboratory values. Ability to multi-task and sustain a high level of organization while working with several research studies. Previous experience working in a medical setting, specifically the field of rheumatology and/or autoimmunity is desirable. ACRP/SOCRA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
