Summary Pharmacy Technician II - Part Time - 0.6 FTE - Flex Shifts
Provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the registered pharmacist.
Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
Fills medication carts on a daily basis.
Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department. Repackages bulk medications.
May be responsible for sterile and non-sterile compounding.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and state licensure if required by law.
Minimum two year's experience as a hospital pharmacy technician preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations preferred.
Basic computer literacy and skills
Formal Pharmacy Training or 6 months experience in an outpatient, hospital or retail setting.
