An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Commodities and Global Markets (CGM) Operations team in Shanghai.
Reporting to the Associate Director, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for providing support on key operational elements on behalf of the Macquarie Metals businesses in Shanghai and its customers. They will also be trained in other operational functions performed by the Physical and Trade Finance (PTF) team relating to transactions executed by the CGM Physical and Financing businesses. The Physical Business at Macquarie is a growing sector and this role presents an opportunity to be part of an evolving and growing function.
To be successful in the role you will have:
Preparation of Documents against Presentation (DP) documents
Preparation, issuance and vetting of customer contracts
Review and acceptance of documents received under Letter of Credit
Preparation and issuance of invoices and other Shipping documents
Verification of transactions booked in the internal Trading systems
Preparation of payments requests for payment teams.
Experience in preparing Outward Documentary Bills for Collection and processing Inward Documentary Bills for Collection
Knowledge of the Metals products/ physical commodities beneficial
Knowledge of International Chamber of Commerce Rules and Regulations beneficial
A keen interest in Trade Finance markets, including the operational aspect
Good understanding of local market financial regulations including tax invoicing beneficial
Understand the importance of controls and procedures in the operations area and lifecycle of a product
Be able to develop strong customer relationships
Be able to work independently and demonstrate leadership ability while understanding the importance of escalation and segregation of duties
A high standard of attention to detail
Be able to work in a methodical manner and accept accountability and ownership of tasks
