DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION SPECIALIST, Human Resources (HR)-Strategic Talent Management Team, to be responsible for developing, implementing, and leading programs and initiatives that sustain diversity, equity, and respect and advance and support MIT's longstanding commitment to workplace diversity. Will provide direction and leadership to MIT's Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) as an inclusionary recruitment, retention, and engagement strategy; assist ERG coleads in planning activities and goals and with budget development; collaborate with the manager of staff diversity and inclusion on supporting and advancing a variety of diversity and inclusion initiatives; consult with and guide central and DLC (departments, labs, centers) HR members focused on client-specific solutions that enable them to create an inclusive environment and apply equitable practices and solutions to recruiting, hiring, promoting, developing, and recognizing MIT's diverse staff; develop tools, educational resources, workshops, and other learning solutions for managers, staff, and work groups that enhance diversity and inclusion; and other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; minimum of five years' experience that includes diversity and inclusion planning, development, and implementation; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; understanding of social justice, the dynamics of power and privilege, and social identities; ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse workforce and affect change by applying best practices, influencing skills, and research-based solutions; proven ability to establish rapport and credibility with senior leaders and a wide range of constituencies in a culturally diverse and team-oriented environment; strong consultation, presentation, meeting design, and facilitation skills; experience designing, delivering, and evaluating diversity and inclusion learning programs/resources; and experience with successful change and project management.
