The University of Minnesota Morris is building an increasingly competitive NCAA Division III athletic program with 19 sports for men and women. Position Description: The Assistant Coach is responsible for providing support to all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III football program that advances the mission of intercollegiate athletics and the University. The assistant coach assists the head coach in student recruiting and retention efforts; coaches student athletes and fosters their skill development; assists in coaching plans and implementation at practices and competitions; provides for students’ safety, health and wellbeing; complies with NCAA, UMAC and university policies; provides sound fiscal management; assists in equipment oversight, scheduling, travel planning, and summer camps; assists in off-season programs and athlete development; and assists in program communication and fundraising efforts with the Head Coach. This is an annually renewable professional and administrative appointment. The percentage of appointment varies.
The University of Minnesota, Morris Intercollegiate Athletics seeks three Assistant Football Coaches. These positions are 30% time with one from July 31, 2017 to April 30, 2018; two positions are from July 31, 2017 to November 30, 2017. This position will report to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. The qualifications for this position are as follows:
Essential knowledge, skills and abilities: A Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated effectiveness coaching football is required. A Master's degree, college coaching experience and/or participating at the collegiate level are preferred. The position requires excellent organization, oral and written communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds to build diverse and inclusive teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate an appreciation for NCAA DIII, be self-directed and motivated, work with integrity, and bring skills and abilities needed to help advance the programs.
