We are currently looking for Business Analyst to join the Post Trade Services team in Sydney. You will be responsible for working with business counterparts to understand and document the requirements for MiFID II and then support the businesses in implementing their technical solutions. The successful candidate will have experience as a Business Analyst ideally in the Financial Services Industry.
Ideally you will have:
five to Seven years relevant experience in the same capacity
highly methodical and systematic approach to the preparation of all documents
a keen eye for detail
business knowledge across Capital Markets
understanding of middle and back office settlement functions and relevant application knowledge
extensive experience of working with teams of business and technology staff, together with an attitude which fosters a high degree of rigger and excellence
experience of working with teams distributed across geographies
hands on experience on writing functional requirements / user stories
excellent problem solving and communication skills
the flexibility to work in an environment with changing priorities
relevant tertiary qualifications in information systems, computer science, engineering or equivalent
a strong sense of ownership
adequate knowledge about technology and project methodology will be an added advantage
Functional Expertise mandatory:
understand the Regulations like Dodd Frank, EMIR, MIFID, etc.
understand both Record Keeping and Transaction Reporting regulations in European, Asian, US and other markets
understand offerings by regulatory reporting repositories like DTCC
trade life cycle for OTC, Equities, Commodities etc asset classes
should have medium to advanced knowledge of FpML and FIXML including different FIX/FpML flows across the trading lifecycle
should understand JSON structures and concept of database indexes in a no-sql world
should be able to map attributes from the sources systems to the canonical formats and also verify against the required regulatory attributes
should be able to understand system flows through the trade lifecycle and determine existing process gaps with respect to the regulatory requirements
ABOUT THE ROLE:
documentation and development of business requirements and functional specifications using context diagram and process models that support key businesses, processes and systems. Ensure project artefacts are kept current & managed in accordance with organisation document management standards
assist in the management of issues effectively and efficiently, and escalate to the Project Manager in a timely manner
interface with onsite and offshore business stakeholders to drive requirement gathering, functional analysis and design of end-to-end business work flow.
evaluate proposed system solutions in close liaison with system developers to ensure delivery of solutions is consistent with stakeholder's expectations
contribute and drive the testing and issue identification aspects of the Project where required
work with the source systems to identify quality issues and remediate any such issues
help in creating and reviewing scenario based test cases
contribute to the User Training activities, through one-to-one discussion, the preparation of user training guides where required
provide direct input and direction to the stream lead project manager when planning the Implementation Phase of the project
provide appropriate post implementation support
work as a team player in close coordination with other Bas
communicate effectively within and between teams to promote knowledge sharing
maintain a strong relationship with the business of high quality, responsive IT solutions
should adhere to tight schedules, submitting the work before deadlines.
