Gumberg Library at Duquesne University is currently seeking to fill a Part-time Digital Projects Assistant for the library's digitization and institutional repository initiatives.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Adds materials to the newspaper, Spiritan, African, and other digitized collections;
Assists in the transition to a new platform for digital collection;
Identifies faculty publications for inclusion in the university's institutional repository, especially for materials published in open access journals;
Determines the guidelines about whether the open access titles could be included in the repository;
Performs other duties as assigned for the library's digitization and publication efforts.
REQUIREMENTS OF WORK:
Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited institution, knowledge of digital repository (CONTENTdm preferred), and institutional repository software (Bepress preferred), strong computer skills, and awareness of trends and interest in supporting access to scholarly publishing and digital collections.
