QualificationsIndividual must be a registered nurse, licensed in the State of Maryland or state where practicing. Bachelor's degree in nursing or related discipline preferred. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR certification required. Must maintain current licensure and certification during duration of employment. Acceptable completion of the JHH or BMC credentialing process is required within two weeks of start date.
Knows the formal and informal departmental goals, standards, policies and procedures which may include some familiarity of other departments within the school/division. Is sensitive to the interrelationship of both people and functions within the department.
On a regular and continuous basis, exercises administrative judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, costs, and/or quality of service within the functional area. Exchanges non-routine information using tact and persuasion as appropriate requiring good oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of nursing process; social, behavioral, biological, and physical sciences; safety and scientific inquiry process and application to the skill performance; leadership and management as normally acquired through completion of a bachelors program in nursing.
Knowledge of current health care environment.
Knowledge of general physiologic monitoring and patient care equipment such as defibrillator and glucometer monitor.
Successfully completes all training courses required for access to Epic and other clinical software systems.
Requires effective use of resources and cost awareness.
Ability to analyze data to synthesize and summarize information and to make judgments regarding patient care.
Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships that foster optimal quality patient care.
Ability to use a computer keyboard to input and obtain data. Ability to operate personal computer to access email, computerized scheduling and documentation systems, and other basic office support software including Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to document legibly using a writing instrument.
Ability to apply principles of evidence-based practice, scientific process, and service excellence in practice.
Ability to interact successfully with the public. Ability to perform effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities. Ability to maintain personal composure in high stress situations.
Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required to service a diverse customer base.
Ability to demonstrate and convey a favorable image of the organization and to conform to proper standards of professional dress, attitude and demeanor. Ability to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills required to interact with patients, patients' families/visitors and clinical staff.

Preferred QualificationsEighteen months of experience as a registered nurse strongly preferred.
