Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Medical Observation Unit, Short Stay has a current position available for a Clinical Nurse II aka Registered Nurse II. Since the new 23-bed Observation unit opened as a pilot program in March 2014, it has been an extraordinary success story. The unit has served both Observation patients and those being triaged into the unit from the Emergency Department. The unit expanded house-wide in July and currently we have room for future growth as patient volume increases. This is the ideal clinical environment for an RN who wants to use their experience to help improve processes while serving as a patient advocate. Positions available on day shifts, 12hrs shifts. Summary of Essential Job Duties: Clinical Nurse II assumes responsibility and accountability for the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The Clinical Nurse II consistently demonstrates professional skills and abilities, utilizes his/her knowledge base and proficient skills to direct and supervise the clinical performance of others in the role of collegial consultant and resource person. Demonstrates motivation and creativity and serves as a catalyst for effective changes within the Nursing at the unit, service line, and institutional levels. Applies clinical knowledge regarding standard pattern of care to consolidate interventions for time and cost savings. Assumes responsibility for patient advocacy, patient rights and meeting customer's expectation. Qualification Requirements/Preferences: Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Education License, Certification, or Registration Required: Current and active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred). Current BLS for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association. National Specialty Certifications preferred. Experience One (1) year recent of acute care experience. The Registered Nurse II is a competent clinician who provides nursing care in a skilled and effective manner.
