Our Client is seeking a Contracts Specialist who is responsible for assistance for all phases of contracting for aviation construction and planning grants for a State Aviation Program. Responsibilities include preparation of contracts, supplemental agreements, processing and distribution of contracts, reviewing and processing project payments, preparation of project close out documentation, and the preparation of periodic reports, as required by the Aviation Programs office. The Contracts Specialist is essential to maintaining contract tracking keeping contracts progressing in timely manner. Working with project managers to identify and obtain all information and documentation needed to prepare contracts is part of the daily tasks of this position. Other duties include: confirms and verifies funding availability for each project; processes and makes distribution of all construction plans and specification to appropriate individuals and offices; prepares contracts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations; submits contracts for electronic signatures using DocuSign for electronic signatures; prepares individual pay request for all projects; prepares contract related correspondence to inform appropriate parties of contract status and needed actions, and assists in periodic and annual audits.
Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and three years’ experience in an accounting/business related field or, high school education or equivalent and five years of professional experience in general accounting, contracts, and related experience.
Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and three years’ of contracting and accounting related experience. In addition to:
- Full working knowledge of and experience in accounting and standard government fund accounting practices.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic accounting computations with a high degree of reliability.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare contract documents and reports in a clear, succinct and organized manner.
- Demonstrated ability to read technical rules and regulation, such as that governing contract compliance record-keeping, auditing and reporting, and apply these rules to specific situations.
Other Competencies: Demonstrated experience using MS Office Suite programs such as Word, Excel, and Access.
Compensation and Benefits: The position is full-time and requires office hours in Mid-town Atlanta. Compensation is commensurate with education and experience with a starting salary range of $40,000-$50,000 annually. Competitive benefits are offered.
