The Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Coach-Strength & Conditioning. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Athletic Director.

The Assistant Coach assists in the organization, administration and promotion of all aspects of the Oregon State Strength and Conditioning (Athlete Development) Program. This position specifically designs, maintains, supervises, and evaluates the Strength and Conditioning Program for Football and other assigned sport(s) and each specialized position the sports afford. Coaching includes instruction and athletic supervision of the athletes, program management for the specific area assigned and preparation of recommendations to the Head Coach/Director and Director of Athletics. The Assistant Coach will adhere to the policies set forth by direct supervisors, Head Coach/Director and Athletic Director, as well as Oregon State University, the PAC-12 Conference and The National Collegiate Athletic Association.
Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):
Typically Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Experience in a NCAA and/or NFL football program.
Two (2) years coaching experience at an NCAA Division I institution (strength and conditioning) or similar. GA experience will qualify.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) within 30 days of hire.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.
Some evening, weekend and early morning work required.
The employee in this position will often be required to (lift/carry/push/pull) objects weighing 200 pounds.
Access to expensive equipment.
Will be involved in coordination of a Youth Program (camp) and may have one-on-one access to youth under the age of 18.
