The ideal candidate is a fast learner, enjoys providing excellent customer service and being part of a team. Cleaning responsibilities are broad and include restrooms, floor care, classrooms, conference rooms and other public spaces on campus. The right candidate must be comfortable in using and maintaining power equipment and tools (such as vacuums, brooms, mops and squeegees). Having the physical ability to do the required work is required. Must be able to follow written and/or verbal instructions and communicate in English regarding the use of cleaning materials, supplies and equipment.
You will need to be able to work Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Custodial experience is a plus!
Other required duties as assigned:
Wash interior or easily accessible exterior windows.
Perform cleaning and related activities in areas within a reasonable distance from buildings using hand-operated tools or small, hand-held power equipment (to remove snow /debris, sweep sidewalks or stairs).
Comply with safety policies and procedures.
Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an occasional basis in order to clean a space.
Operate high-pressure washer.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Basic Computer Skills
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Must be able to clean and disinfect with various cleaners, chemicals, disinfectants and cleaning cloths.
Must physically be able to perform tasks and be on your feet for most of the day.
A satisfactory outcome from reference checks.
Appointment to this position is contingent upon obtaining satisfactory results from a criminal background check.
