SCB HK has initiated a program of work to comply with the "Basel Committee on Banking Supervision" edict (BCBS239). The program has multiple workstreams across Risk, Finance and Technology. It requires the streams to analyse & document data and system requirements, and implement changes to comply with the BCBS239 principles by the stipulated deadline. This role will support the Project Manager in driving the BCBS239 requirements working closely with the stream leads and work towards implementing the requirements. The role offers candidate unique exposure to both the regulations and Bank's approach towards compliance that cuts across multiple functions; while honing the candidate analyst and project management skills. This is a high profile project with exposure to senior management across multiple functions.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinate the various project activities across Risk, Finance, Technology streams for the analysis and implementation of BCBS239 requirements
Analyse, scope and plan the project deliverables as per BCBS239 requirements leveraging Group approach as applicable
Review, challenge, clarify deliverables from streams to ensure cross stream dependencies, consistency and completeness
Ensure project deliveries are aligned to Group BCBS239 programme templates and as per various frameworks
Engage stakeholders at different levels of organisation, including Group BCBS239 Programme to leverage the common agenda
Ensure and execute full project governance, coordinate project committees including minutes, tracking actions and also management updates
Track and monitor project progress including resourcing and financial status
Work with other teams / projects that may be related to BCBS239 deliverables, address / escalate conflict of interest and facilitate BCBS239 requirements
Qualifications and Skills
Relevant degree in Finance, Risk or similar course of study
Previous experience in project tracking / management preferred but not mandatory
Excellent interpersonal, communication skills to articulate across the organisation hierarchy
Structured & organised with multi tasking ability
A self starter and able to operate independently
