The role holder, working closely with in house economists and analysts, produces high quality US/Canada research for the Bank's internal and external customers. The role will involve producing and communicating the teams' views to clients globally.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
The role will entail the following: * Produce high-quality, objective and differentiated economic and market research on the Bank's core North American (NA) economies for internal and external stakeholders; * Originate and market key economic forecasts for US/Canada, including central bank policy and interest rate projections and strategies; * Produce and contribute to regular Global Research publications/periodicals as well as publish ad-hoc and timely economic/market analysis and commentary to SCB client base; * Proactively market Global Research views to key global and regional clients, leveraging research views to drive the Bank's business; * Lead regular global economic and market briefings and data coverage for internal stakeholders to highlight risks and opportunities; * Help manage internal research team databases for economic data, models and chartbooks;

The candidate will be responsible for: * Developing an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them * Ensuring a full understanding of the risk and control environment within Global Research
The candidate will be responsible for developing awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Qualifications and Skills
5-8 years experience covering US and Canada economics; Strong fundamentals-focused analytical approach and econometric forecasting; Effective and seasoned communicator, both written and verbal, in articulating complex research views and actionable conclusions to sophisticated investor and corporate client segments; Maintain strong public policy contacts to help assess economic and policy risks; Self-starter and demonstrate initiative in exploring non-consensus analysis, but also able to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment to produce multi-themed reports. Series 7 and 63 certified
