The Clinical Engineering section provides a comprehensive range of engineering support to the clinical departments of Memorial Hospital, ensuring regulatory compliance related to medical devices through an effective preventive and corrective equipment maintenance program. This group provides inspection, repair, calibration, safety assurance, pre-purchase evaluation, and incident investigation of medical equipment. Its members are also responsible for the maintenance of medical electronic equipment, which includes, but is not limited to, defibrillators, physiological monitors, pacemakers, infusion pumps, and electrosurgical units. Clinical Engineering provides educational services to physicians and the nursing staff and supports clinical investigators and the delivery of patient care with the design and development of new medical instrumentation and procedures. Clinical Engineering develops specifications for the medical equipment infrastructure and the patient data integration requirements for new care facilities on the main campus and offsite centers.
As a Senior Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will:
Perform biomedical equipment support services.
Implement maintenance, repairs, calibration, and construction of equipment systems.
Install, test, and verify the safety and proper operation of biomedical electronic equipment.
Evaluate equipment problems and initiate repairs/services and coordinate with vendors.
Document and record information on equipment service/repair in a computer database; generate reports as requested by supervisor.
An Associate’s Degree/ Certified Vocational Training in Biomedical equipment technology or equivalent education and experience.
At least 2-4 years of related experience.
Work days: Sunday-Thursday
Hours: Sunday, 9:00 AM -5:00PM
Monday-Thursday, 4:00 PM- 12:00 AM
