As a key member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the President and CEO of UnityPoint Health - St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer provides leadership for all financial functions and supports the mission, vision, values and strategic direction of UPH, St. Luke’s Hospital. This CFO position is an excellent opportunity for a highly talented finance executive to join an outstanding, high performing team. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have senior-level financial leadership experience from within a progressive health system and/or strategic consulting or payor experience. There is preference for candidates with demonstrated experience within an organization that has evolved as a system, managed risk, and new models of payment. Additionally, this individual will need a solid understanding of all aspects of the healthcare business and a working knowledge of current trends. This CFO will continue to foster collegial relationships with both clinical and operational leadership by facilitating collaboration and continuous learning for the organization on the intricacies of healthcare finance. He/She will be charged with recruiting and mentoring strong Finance leads. Communication, excellent follow through and mentoring skills will be essential in this role. The next CFO will have a gift for translating financial data into narrative that can be acted upon and understood by all stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a smart and astute healthcare leader who knows how to take risks and deliver financial results.
The CFO will work collaboratively with St. Luke’s leadership team, staff, physicians, and the affiliated rural hospital to ensure the system is as efficient and financially strong as possible. He/She will proactively create an environment for successful organizational performance and accepts responsibility for the financial viability of St. Luke’s Hospital. Further, the SVP/CFO is responsible for developing financial systems and controls that support the successful operation of St. Luke’s strategies. He/She establishes policies, programs, and processes which ensure consistent actions, financial practices and results reporting throughout the system. In addition, ensures that timely, accurate and complete financial information and reports are disseminated to the CEO, Board of Directors, UnityPoint Health and required outside agencies as necessary.
